Hi! My name is Darcy O’Brian
I am a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT).
My background in attending outdoor schools and programs, as well developing Natural Science/Conservation Education programs professionally for over 20 years has fulfilled and sustained me on this life-long journey.
After taking a hiatus from developing programs and exploring another career path, it was engaging with ANFT that has restored and rejuvenated my inspiration. It is because of this, that I am compelled to share the sensory experience with you. Nature and Forest Immersion is not a hike to achieve a specific goal or for exercise, nor is in an educational class where we learn about natural history. Nature and Forest Immersion is an opportunity offered to release societal pressures, unplug, unwind, and settle into our natural embodied, relaxed state. With the support of the natural world, I guide my clients in exploring their own sensory connection to and relationship with nature. I believe in the ripple effects of this practice both in providing individuals with a practical foundation on which they can rely, as well as reaching into the greater community.
In addition to being certified with Nature and Forest Therapy and Wilderness First Aid, I hold a B.A in Counseling Psychology and a M.Ed. in Natural Science Education from Western Washington University.
